Today was the perfect storm of bad news in the crypto world. The SEC came out with a very negative tone on digital asset exchanges, Binance dealt with a phishing/hack/pumping issue and the Mount Gox trustees announced a major Bitcoin liquidation.

XRP (Ripple) pumped nicely on rumors that it would be the next coin added to Coinbase, until Coinbase sent the XRP price dropping with one simple tweet. Let's talk about why the next coin on Coinbase is a dumb investment thesis and really doesn't matter at all. Also, let's discuss Waltconchain's idiotic and hilarious tweet that sent the price plumeting, and how it actually provided an excellent buying opportunity if you are into WTC.

With the news that the SEC has subpoenaed as many as 80 companies and individuals involved with recent ICO's, I'm starting to more heavily weight my portfolio in cryptoassets that I think would be unaffected by "potential" regulation. These types of cryptocurrencies, at least in my mind include Bitcoin, Litecoin, Monero and ZCash.
Let's discuss a bit more about why I'm thinking this and how it could potentially affect you as well.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the SEC has launched a probe into a number of recent ICO's and cryptocurrency projects, without releasing specific names yet. I've personally heard some rumblings of this occuring through subpoenas to projects and it's something that should probably be a bit scary for any "investor" in some of these cryptoassets. Let's talk about what it all means, plus recapping the ZCL Fork and more in today's discussion.

Have you ever made a trade and TOTALLY messed it up. Well, welcome to my life and my recent $ZCL (ZClassic) trade. Let's analyze what I did and how I totally ignored my key principles because I got greedy.
Here are my thoughts on the ZCL trade and how I messed it up:
- I had a plan going into the trade.. And I didn’t follow it
- Why didn’t I follow it? Because I got greedy. Simply put. I hit my profit goal, but didn't take profits because I thought there more more left in store.
- I listened too much to what other people were saying and because of that I took an L
- What did I learn? Don’t hold all the way into a fork. Even if you like the coin, ditch it prior to the fork and buy back in prior to (at least that's what I would do next time)
