Bancor Hacked, Augur Going Live and Bobby the VC?

Bancor, the Decentralized Exchange/Liquidity Network that raised over $150M in an ICO, was hacked today for over $20M in ETH and BNT tokens, again showing the vulnerability of smart contract technology. Augur, which has been in development for 3 years, an eterenity in the crypto world, is going live tonight and I'm excited to see how it pans out!

Crypto Market Jumps Again, Coinbase Custody, EOS Done Liquidating?

The crypto market jumped once again today, with Bitcoin moving $300 up to $6,600 and most altcoins following. Some folks are attributing the move to the announcement of Coinbase Custody, and while I think it's fantastic news and a positive thing for the industry, I don't think it's directly correlated.

Lastly, EOS, everyone's favorite, moved their last 100,000 ETH from their ICO smart contract, so are they finally done dumping ETH on the market? Let's hope so :)

Dumb FUD, ETC on Coinbase and My Good & Bad of Masternodes

I want to rant a bit on some of the dumb FUD that's often circulating, trying to tie specific occurances to price movements. Most recently, the Coinrail hack is what people are blaming for $40 billion of market cap loss, but that's idiotic and my opinion and I'll talk about why. Coinbase made a big move last night adding Ethereum Classic to the platform, causing some people joy and others heartbreak. 

Lastly, let's talk about my recent experiences with masternodes. It's been both good and bad, and I'm extremely weary of the strategy moving forward, but figured I'd give you my thoughts about it all here. Early Bitcoiners Sold $30 Billion to New Speculators

During the retail driven mania of December 2017 to April 2018, early Bitcoin investors (whales, OG's, whatever you want to call them), sold $30 BILLION dollars worth of Bitcoin to speculators, according to research from Chainanalysis. This actually increased the available trading supply of Bitcoin by over 50%, leading to the recent depression of the Bitcoin price, according to ChainAnalysis.
